Privacy Notice

This notice describes what information may reach Moultrie County Busted Mugshots, how it is used, and the choices available to a visitor. Using the pages or a linked search tool means that information may be handled by this service and by the outside provider that receives a search request.

Information Sent Directly

Search queries

A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. This service does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy notice and terms control what happens after the request leaves these pages.

Messages and contact submissions

If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the message and reply address are kept long enough to respond, keep a basic correspondence record, and address a follow-up. Those messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is needed to provide the requested response, comply with law, or protect rights and safety.

Technical Data and Cookies

Like most public web pages, the service may receive ordinary technical details from a browser or hosting system when a page loads, such as:

  • IP address or a shortened network identifier;
  • browser name and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages viewed and time spent on them;
  • referring page, when available; and
  • request timestamps and basic error data.

Cookies

Cookies or similar storage may help understand how visitors use the pages, remember a limited preference, measure referrals, or support advertising and analytics. Browser settings can block cookies. Some features or partner tools may work differently when that setting is enabled.

Why Information Is Used

Information is used only for ordinary service and administration purposes, including:

  • keeping the pages available and reasonably fast;
  • routing a search request to the partner tool selected by a visitor;
  • understanding which pages are useful;
  • finding errors, abuse, and technical problems; and
  • showing advertising that may be relevant to a visitor.

The public-record links on these pages point to county, city, state, court, federal, and third-party resources. The public-record process itself is governed by the office that holds the record, including Illinois FOIA arrest-information rules and the county’s practical instructions at the county FOIA page.

Links to Other Services

Pages may link to the Moultrie County Jail Report, police departments, government portals, courts, state corrections, federal locators, news outlets, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, that organization’s privacy notice governs its collection and use. This service does not control another organization’s uptime, cookies, forms, or data practices.

Advertising partners may also measure activity across more than one site on their own systems. Their tracking is subject to their policies and choices.

Who May Receive Data

Personal information is not sold by this service as a standalone mailing list. Limited information may reach the following recipients when needed for the purposes described above:

  • search partners that receive a query entered into their tool;
  • analytics providers measuring page use;
  • advertising networks serving or measuring an advertisement;
  • hosting, security, and technical vendors supporting the pages; and
  • law-enforcement or other government bodies when disclosure is required by a valid legal order or another legal duty.

Security Efforts

Reasonable administrative and technical practices are used to protect information under the service’s control. No internet-connected system is completely secure, so this service cannot promise that data will never be lost, intercepted, or accessed without permission. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive documents through an unverified contact route.

Visitors Under 18

These pages are intended for adults. The service does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Get in Touch page to request review and deletion of the submission.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity checks, a visitor may ask what personal information is held, request a copy, ask for a correction, request deletion, or object to a particular use. A request may not apply to information held by a linked county, police department, court, IDOC, news outlet, or search provider. Those requests must go to the organization that controls the information.

  • Ask for a copy of information held here.
  • Point out inaccurate contact information.
  • Request deletion when there is no legal or operational reason to retain it.
  • Ask how a search partner, analytics service, or advertising vendor handles a submission.

Send a privacy question through the Get in Touch page and include enough detail to identify the request without sending unnecessary sensitive records.

Changes to This Notice

This notice may be revised when the pages, tools, vendors, or legal requirements change. The updated version will appear here with a new effective date or other clear revision marker. Continued use after an update means the revised practices apply going forward.
